The coop is built and the first 3 (of a total of 6) residents moved in this evening. They are 10 week old Pita Pinta pullets, so sweet and cuddly. These will be the most expensive eggs i the world, but it's fun

Another newbie chicken raiser here. You won't save any $$ raising birds for eggs....but you will have much higher quality eggs. You'll know where your food comes from.

DH had to switch to home laid eggs. All of the tampering with our food, eggs included...he could no longer eat store eggs as of 2011.
