This will be my third year with a community garden plot, approximately 25 x 30ft. I will not be growing any seeds indoors like last year due to limited time constraints, I will barely have enough time to tend to my garden this year. However, on my list for this year is:

Way more flowers (less maintenance)
Lettuce
Spinach
Carrots
Potatoes
Peppers
Winter Squash
Herbs
Tomatoes (not as many as last yr when I had 8 plants)
Eggplant
Broccoli
Peas
NO MORE SUMMER SQUASH (ok, maybe just three plants instead of 9)

Its my first year too. Growing:
Beefsteak tomatos
Cantelope
Corn
Beans
I've heard that the corn and beans go good together, and that the beans will climb the corn stalk and contribute to the soil

Hummmmmm, I grow veggies because the ones I grow taste better than what I can buy. Also, I suspect that I am healthier and my mind is sharper if I live for at least three months out of each year on a diet of Tomato sandwiches. The tomatos must be fresh picked from my garden.

I've been toying with the idea of planting rosemary sprigs about 4 ft apart along the eastern edge of my drive, in the curve and having it as a hedge like some do with boxwood, it certainly grows big enough and, after trimming it is quite fragrant.

Dukes mayo, and lettuce, and-------it takes too much time to cook the bacon, I could make and eat three sandwiches before the bacon is cooked.

Yup, that corn and bean thing is correct, I don't do any variety of bean, when I do the deer come in and eat the beans, then...eat all sorts of other stuff on the way out. If I don't plant beans this organic fertilizer I use repels the deer and I lose nothing to (odocoileous virginianus).

I have about 25 tomato plants above ground in peat pots and about a dozen okra in peat pots, My farmer friend from down the road came in today with his tractor and seriously tilled up my garden for me. Still too early to plant in the ground, but, have 9 peat pots each of yellow squash, zucchini, and butternut squash, haven't broken ground yet. Next week, I'll do 18 peat pots each of watermelon (sugar baby) and cantalope (Athena). It will be some where in the first part of April before I put plants outside in their seasonal home place. I'm only gonna grow two varieties of pepper, Poblano and Tabasco, saved seed from last year.

I love growing things during gardening season. This year I think in addition to my regular peas (Laxton's Progress; last year I had some 6' tall ones - I'm not sure what variety that was) I'm gonna grow some stringbeans. Had potatoes last year too, I hope we plant more this year.
