I have a row of about 30 italian cypress trees between my house and my neighbor's property.
I currently use an "A" ladder and a pole trimmer to individually trim the tops of the trees -- this is tiring, dangerous, tedious, and inefficient.
I would like to use a hedge trimmer (on a long extension pole) to make the job easier. However, I've been unable to find one.
Any ideas?
We have a similar situation. How do you top your Italian cypress? Does the manual pole saw work? Assuming a ladder is involved w/someone holding it to help.
I am very happy with Greenworks 20-Inch cordless pole Hedge Trimmer new tool to trim our huge lilac in front of our house. Was able to reach high up and over the top to make it look great. Only just bought it and only used it once, so no idea on durability over time. Our previous B&D pole hedge trimmer died suddenly after only a couple years, so hopes are high this will last much longer!
It looks horrible when the top gets lopped off. Please don't do that. Trimming off stray branches should be all that's needed. They look better if left to their natural shape, not some manmade boxy monster.
