Anybody ( especially in the Southern states) have issues with keeping roses alive?

Mine always get black spot and I cant seem to keep those boring worms/beetles/whatever they are out of them.

Any tips/advice would be appreciated.

Get roses with the Fortuniana rootstock and make sure they get plenty of sun. I have two rose bushes here in central Florida, and this area is known for how hard it is to grow roses and they are doing fantastic.

Thanks! The only thing Im concerned about with lots of sun is drought. I dunno if Florida's is as bad as ours, but alot of my plants that are in full sun in summer get roasted. This happens even with the ones that are supposed to love heat...

The summer in florida rains almost daily but yes some plants wilt in full sun even thou it says plant needs full sun.

The roses have no problems they get about 6 hrs of sun a day and don`t get the hottest afternoon sun and they seem to like it.
