Hello. Lamb's quarters are taking over everything I own. I guess you can sometimes eat them. However, I don't want to eat them. I just want them gone. Any ideas on what to do with them without killing everything else?
Hi,
I wish I had your problem. They are very delicious and nutritious, but don't seem to grow here on the foothills of the Adirondack Mts. The best way to deal with them is to cultivate, mulch and never let them go to seed. It's nearly impossible to irradicate them entirely.
Depends what else you have growing close to the lamb's quarters.
If they're taking over a scrubby lawn, then a broadleaf weedkiller containing 2 4 D will make short work of them, but it will also knock down flowers.
If your infestation is your flower beds, mechanical weeding with a small hand cultivator will eventually reduce the problem if you are persistent enough to keep at it until your all the seeds germinate.
