How many White Americans have some Native American ancestry? (Native Americans, percentage, blood)

I'd be willing to guess about 20%, or even 30% of Europeans in the United States, have some Native American blood, especially if their families have been in the country since Christopher Columbus arrived.

Well, sure. Since the only people in the country when Columbus (who never actually arrived in the U.S. ... ) were Native Americans. So, if that's your criteria, 100% would have Native American blood.

Probably a high percent along and west of the Appalachians but very little along the East Coast. Also more further South, since the Cherokees frequently married Whites but the Northern tribes rarely did.
I'm 1/64th Cherokee myself. Half of Eastern Kentucky's "Maggard's" also have Cherokee blood. (2 Maggard brothers came to KY, one married an Indian, the other (one of my ancestors) didn't)
Since nobody was "Native American" (the people you speak of are Mongoloid, and came from Asia) and the true "Native Americans" were the people who were here in 1776 when the USA became a country, I would say a HUGE percentage of white people.
Our family (originally from SW Virginia ) can trace our hertitage back to a specific Cherokee woman. She was my great-great-great grandmother, though, so I'm not even sure that counts anymore.

According to DNA testing, I have absolutely no Native American ancestry.
My (adoptive) grandmother has a few Native Americans way, way back in her line. We're talking 1600s Virginia here. Since then, nothing.
