My ancestor Jeffrey Currier was fined in N.H. Court in 1664 with Edward Oney. Since my Jeffrey (b. @ 1635) is a brick wall, I've been trying to research his contemporaries to try and break through the wall.

I'm finding absolutely nothing on Edward Oney, which leads me to wonder if "Oney" is a misspelling of something else such as Olney.

In 1664, Jeffrey and Edward were in Portsmouth NH, and I presume "N.H. Court" must have been the local lower court. At the time NH fell under the jurisdiction of the Massachusetts Bay Colony (sort of) and its General Court, but the court record was found in the NH State Papers.

I've found no Oneys whatsoever during that time period, and the Olneys I found were in Rhode Island, but none of them Edward.

Why I'm "obsessed" with Edward Oney is because the year 1664 is the first time my Jeffrey Currier shows up in the records, so if I could trace Edward, I might be able to trace Jeffrey.

Any help with guesses or ideas would be welcomed!
