Do to renovation and logistic issues we need to get everything out of our current house but won't be able to move it into our new house in a neighboring state for about a month. We are packing everything and we will use a professional company to move it. Are there any companies that move your stuff as well as store it for maybe a month? Pros and cons? I don't want to move our stuff twice.
Thanks!

Pods is probably your least expensive and most flexible option.

My husband cannot move everything by ourselves. And I don't know how to pack things like curio cabinets so they don't break in transit. I don't beileve pods come with professional movers.

Most moving companies can store your items for later delivery. The question is whether you want to pay the bill.

My plan is to have the movers put everything in storage. Might work for you, too?

Shipsmart.com. They'll do this for you.

Most larger movers can store stuff, but of course you pay extra for that. Two Men & A Truck, which now do long distance moving cannot do that...or at least the local branch here in Colorado Springs can't.

You can hire a crew.

Your cheapest option will likely be just getting a storage unit for a month. They're inexpensive, safe, and located virtually anywhere. Next cheapest will likely be a Pod (although there are several different pod-type companies, so I'd price them out). The most expensive will likely be a moving company. The reason for this is because a pod can be filled, put on a truck, and off-loaded. Leaving the truck available for the next pick-up and delivery. If a moving company puts all of our stuff on a truck, they can't just leave the truck parked in their garage for a month. They need the truck to make money. So they would have to unload all of your stuff at their facility, ensure that nothing is damaged or broken, ensure that it stays secure at their facility, load it back onto a truck in a month, ensure that nothing is damaged or broken, and deliver it. They're going to charge you a lot for this. Likely a lot more than they would charge to load the truck, unload it into a storage facility, load it back up in a month, and deliver it to your new house.
