Hi!
We have not moved for a while.... Not out of state at all... Please, could you give me an advice, how to proceed the best way about transporting furniture etc.... Should we go with U-HAUL?
I heard they have a deal on helping to carry furniture to the truck... Is it worth it?
Any ideas and recommendations are very welcome! We move to Boise, ID area.... not too far...(8 hours drive)

It was a long long time ago but we used a large U-Haul and trailered one car behind it while driving the SUV with pets. Since it's only eight hours, that relieves the largest stress which is parking in a hotel parking lot overnight. 20+ years ago, it wasn't a thing to steal fully loaded U-Hauls. Get all the insurance.

We used ABF Upack across country and it was great. Its basically the same as PODS where they bring a pod to your house, you pack on your schedule and they deliver it to your new home and you unpack. We hired labor to help us pack and unpack.

Depends on how much stuff. Sometimes busfrieght works well if you don't have a lot of stuff.

Are you young and strong with time to spare and with a few friends around to help?
Then pack & load the truck yourself and drive it away.
(which truck from which company is almost immaterial)

ABF U Pack is a good option. They have an online tool that gives you a very good estimate of the charge for the trailer. You only pay for the amount of the truck you use. They drop the 26' trailer in front of your home & you have 3 days to load. Then they pick up and drive to your destination and drop off. You have 3 days to unload. They also have a storage option but don't think you will be needing that.

We hired local moving men to load the truck (did all our own packing as we had time) and then local movers in Boise to unload. Finding good moving muscle is key and you also have to provide all you own moving blankets, boxes, etc.
