I just wanted to know for those that live in DC like me see any influences from other areas. I know that a lot of transplants live in the area, so I wanted to know if Washington takes after it's northern neighbors like New York City and Philadelphia, or does it take after it's neighbors to the south like Atlanta, Dallas, etc?

None.
Washington DC is a government town and it knows it is. Washington DC has a big ego because of that and can rightfully back it up.
And by the gravity model of migration, its Washington DC creeping closer to influencing Philadelphia than Philadelphia is to Washington DC. New York City is already at Philadelphia's doorstep and in the future Philadelphia will likely be the ground of the New York City VS Washington DC front.
Here is information on how the gravity model works: Gravity model of migration - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It has characteristics of both really but in many ways is a style all it's own. I think there is no city that could be said to perfectly fit your description as a place that DC would most draw from
DC does it own thing! Fashion, lingo, food, way of life. The city knows its importance in the grand scheme of things and it is usually taken as arrogance. I don't htink any city shapes or influences DC. I don't think that DC influences other cities either.
DC is unique because it draws people from all 50 states but they all know it's just temporary and someday they will "go home". What other city can say that?
I understand what the OP is saying...its not that DC is influenced by other areas bc its original first and foremost....but DC will show love or acknowledge others by accepting their culture intentionally...I know im speaking from the AA's perspective...if some1 is from Chicago we goin be like "wasup Joe" some1 from N.O "wassup whoday"..some1 from memphis "whats the bizness"...Atl "loudpack this loudpack that" .....Houston "hol'up"..New York "waddup B".....etc...Basically if im greeting an out of towner I'll use their slang just to show im "hip" to thier culture or lingo....DC has alot of originality but def not ignorant to happenings outside D.C
