Hello everyone,

I was just interested to get the forum's opinion on the best Cities/States to spend your 20's and 30's in. I am in my late 20's and from Indiana, and while I don't dislike the state, I've lived here my entire life and ready for change. Understanding that you only live once, it seems appropriate to me to live in more than one place, and hopefully find a nice place while still young. I have been on the forum for a little while, and done research but still have no solid commitments to one particular area. I guess my overall question is what are some of the best cities as far as a littel nightlife (Clubs, concert venues, and so on), Photogenic areas, and outdoor activities, as well as a reasonable cost of living? I welcome any input, Thanks!!

Also, two locations that I highly regard are Nashville, TN. and Phoenix, AZ. but jobs and economy come into play a little with these as well....

Chicago quickly comes to mind -- it's the quentessential place to have fun before kids (then you need to move to the 'burbs). Plus, it's close to "home".

^^^ That is a good list

I personally can vouch for Raleigh, Denver, Atlanta and New York. But definitely know your likes and dislikes make a list and mark off cities according to how things line up. You should end up with a few good contenders by the end of it all.

Everyone's different.

There are many cities that can offer a great experience for just about anyone in their 20s and 30s, and what feels like the center of the universe to some, others may not be able to stand the place.

I live in LA, and I think it is one of the best cities for outdoor activities, photogenic opportunities, nightlife, and diversity.

As far as the high cost of living?: Live with roommates. Problem solved. Seriously.

I think that anyone can find their niche there, but there are lot of people that hate LA. Everyone's different.
