Notes
1. The births and deaths per 100,000 population and the birth/death ratio are sorted based on their effects on population growth. The higher a state is on any of those lists, the greater the boost in population growth. The lower a state is on any of those lists, the greater the drag on population growth.
2. Net total migration is the sum of all inbound domestic migrants and foreign immigrants minus the number of outbound domestic migrants. It is assumed that foreign immigrants become part of the domestic population once arriving.
It's surprising to me that Georgia had negative domestic migration.
I was shocked too, actually. I'm pretty sure it'll become positive again, though I'm also sure that it won't be as positive as it was in the 1980's or 1990's. I think Georgia is about to become a more "mature" state with a slower rate of growth. It won't be stagnant, but it won't grow like a weed either.

Any significant slowing of growth would open the door to NC passing it in a few years. As it stands, NC is set to pass Michigan in short order. If it doesn't happen in the 2014 estimate, I will surely happen by 2015.
