For people who have lived in both areas during the winter which was worse in terms of dryness? Did you experience more chapped lips/dry throats/etc in one versus the other?
I'm in the NE (Philadelphia) and winters are brutal on my nose/throat because of the dry air. The humidity is brought down to the 20%'s due to heating the already dry air in my house. What I'm wondering is how does this compare to desert areas like Pheonix. I know humidity can be extremely low there year round but from what I understand 20% humidity isn't the same at different temperature levels due to dew point, so a lower humidity percent in a warmer area may actually be less drying than a higher one in a cold (or artificially heated) environment.
