this picture is on the website for the national environmental training center for small communities. it is an american organization, yet the village in the picture strikes me as canadian (newfoundland, nova scotia)-looking.
any idea where this picture was taken and if it is really in the USA? alaska perhaps? the landscape looks far too barren to be in new england or the dixie states..

Yeah, kinda different. I was thinking Iceland/Scandinavia, maybe Scotland.
Hmmm ya anywhere that devoid of trees in New England would be rockier and have the ocean in view. I've been to Alaska and nowhere looked like that but hey- it's a big place, could be.
I would guess the maritimes. Actually probably Newfoundland, Greenland, or Iceland.
I would guess any of several states along the Eastern front range of the Rockies. Monatan, Wyoming or Colorado. The scenery just East of Casper, Wyoming is similar.
