this picture is on the website for the national environmental training center for small communities. it is an american organization, yet the village in the picture strikes me as canadian (newfoundland, nova scotia)-looking.

any idea where this picture was taken and if it is really in the USA? alaska perhaps? the landscape looks far too barren to be in new england or the dixie states..

thanks

Yeah, kinda different. I was thinking Iceland/Scandinavia, maybe Scotland.

Hmmm ya anywhere that devoid of trees in New England would be rockier and have the ocean in view. I've been to Alaska and nowhere looked like that but hey- it's a big place, could be.

I would guess the maritimes. Actually probably Newfoundland, Greenland, or Iceland.

I agree. There are a LOT of little towns in Iceland and Norway/Sweden that look like this.

I don't think that is anyplace at all. I think it's a computer-generated graphic (does look like Iceland though).

I saved the file and zoomed in on it with Paint Shop Pro. Doesn't look real to me.

I would guess any of several states along the Eastern front range of the Rockies. Monatan, Wyoming or Colorado. The scenery just East of Casper, Wyoming is similar.

I suppose since it is a University of West Virginia organization it would be logical to assume it is in that state.
