It's some Myers-Briggs test thing, similar to the Oxford Capacity Analysis the scientologists give their members.

Great topic! I was really interested in Myers Briggs for awhile, and then I discovered Socionics, which is even more interesting. I'm an INFJ (or INFp in Socionics). Personally, I think that rust belt cities like Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Detroit are perfect for INFJs and INFPs, because they fulfill our needs to be a catalyst to help people and the places we live become all they can be. I also think I'd like NYC, because it allows me to be anonymous, but also see so many unique and interesting people going about their lives.

As far as other types, I think INTPs would like Boston because it's got a lot of intellectual people and academic institutions. ENTJs might like a big bustling city like DC, LA, or Miami, that allows them to climb the corporate ladder and make millions. I see ISFPs liking places like Minneapolis and Portland. I could go on, but I'm supposed to be working, so that's all I'll do for now.

Stupid topic. Cities aren't personality types...and MB is flawed from the jump.

Certain cities do fit, and attract, certain personality types more than others though. I agree that MB appears flawed as it's usually presented, as just a type and a description, but as you dig more into it and learn about personality functions that make up each of the 16 personality types, it starts to make a lot more sense. Socionics takes it a step further and talks about intertype relations. In my personal experience, using Socionics to guide my interpersonal relationships has proven itself to be valid, thus supporting the entire MB/socionics system of personality classification.

MB is not science - it's more akin to pyscho-speak seeking a raison-d'etre.

It smacks of "Socionic alchemy", cleverly contrived if attempted to establish relevance to CITIES.

An already tortured academic discipline applied to cities seems to be pure folly indeed.

Then why bother issuing a feeble, vapid chastisement ?? Just ignore it....Jesus....indeed.
