Why Congress don't want to improve Infrastructure in American cities in Japan it seem their some of their cities are better than there with their infrastrcture
Bottom line -- Americans have become too cheap. We want to have our cake and eat it too. I think many people are beginning to accept that we need to invest a LOT more money in infrastructure nationwide, but the vast majority of money is being put towards getting roads/highways/public transit in a good state of repair, as opposed to expansions or massive upgrades.
I think it's important to note, though, that Japan has dramatically higher population density (by about 10-fold), thus making it much more economical to support widespread, modernized subway or high-speed rail systems. There are very few places in America that could make something like high-speed rail economically feasible (essentially the Northeast Corridor and coastal California).
Only when we have much greater population density in our urban areas will we be able to match Japanese infrastructure on a national scale.

I doubt it. I was in Japan last year and their infrastructure makes the USA look like a 3rd world country. As the previous poster said, as long as we continue to spend most of our money on the military, we will continue to fall behind countries like Japan.

That's already happening and could happen to thousands of dilapidated bridges in the US.

Fox News had a Libertarian on there that believes all roads should be privatized, even owned by individuals that have the right to determine who is allowed on their road. Also of course they would be allowed to charge anyone whatever they see fit. He doesn't want one dime of taxes to go for roads, bridges, trains, etc. Welcome to the wonderful world of America, fast on its way to third world status.
