I don't get the premise. In my eyes, both places share similar "cultural" DNA, but it's thinly disguised by regional mannerism. For instance, its like when Rudy Guiliani married somebody he found very hot but vaguely familiar, only to find out she was his cousin. Fourteen years later. That's NYC's relation to LA.
I like that analogy.
