I know there are a ton of NY transplants in Florida, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. And of course New Jersey. Can you name specific cities or metros within these states that are known for drawing NYers to live there?

The NYers living in Florida are usually no further north than Tampa. So Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, etc.

Boca Raton, FL is the unofficial sixth borough -- easily the highest concentration of NY'ers outside of the Tri-State area. In my experience, every other person in Boca is from the Greater NYC area, and if they're not, their parents are.

That explains the existence of a Shake Shack there.
