A lot of places outside of the US celebrate Mayday, but nothing is like the Minneapolis Mayday parade and festival. It is part Mardi Gras, part political street theater.
And of course the famous Kentucky Derby Festival which is 2 weeks of parades, parties, a steamboat race, the largest fireworks show in North America (Thunder) and much more:

Looking this up, I see that Louisville, KY has one too, also Omaha, NE.
Louisville has a festival for about every country you can think of. Last weekend was Greek Fest. I have never seen such a festive city in middle America especially, outside maybe New Orleans
