Miami has never had a recorded temperature over 99 F degrees and those temps are recorded at Miami International Airport which is 6 miles inland from the shores of Biscayne Bay !
Orlando is worse than those temps which is hotter inland.
At least in the summer in Miami you can jump into the Ocean or a pool !
Both Houston & New Orleans are far away from the Ocean unlike Miami which has sea Breezes with cooler weather.
I have no idea where the talking point has come from that Miami's Summers are so hot. Certainly it's humid like both New Orleans and Houston but it has one of the most stable temperature ranges of any city I have ever lived in. I know to expect high temps that are usually between 89-91 with overnight lows around 80 at the height of the Summer. It's the same day after day after day after day. A 93 or 94 degree day is a total outlier and usually only happens when there aren't any afternoon storms in the area.
The weather channel 10 day forecast highs are as follows for Miami: 88, 88, 87, 87, 88, 89, 89, 89, 89, 89. Yes it's hot and humid but it's not extreme heat.

Miami's avg heat index in summer is over 100, usually in the 102-105 range thanks to those 75-77 degree dewpoints, so those upper 80's highs are deceiving

In the Houston vs. Raleigh thread, you claimed that dew points in the 70s in Houston and 60s in Raleigh weren't that different. Now you are throwing dew points in the 70s as if they do matter. Pick a side and stick to it please.

And the irony is that many areas up North, where these complaints of Miami's heat come from, have seen much hotter temps than Miami has ever experienced.

Miami gets loads of summer rain, cloud cover, and sea-breeze. The heat index does not take that into account.
Miami gets a breeze usually so it isn't too bad. Texas summers are the worse. After heading to Houston for a couple weeks in the summer, I no longer complain about the heat here in AZ. I couldn't wait to get back.

Houston and Miami see similar heat indicies in July and August, 102-105 range, while Raleighs typical July heat index is in the 98-100 ballpark, so not that much different

With humidity that's extreme heat and intolerable for most people.

Again, you have to factor in dewpoint as well, avg heat index in July in Miami and Houston is 102-105
