Hoped the title got some attention. This is meant to be a positive thread. But to me, there are some places so beautiful, I wouldn't mind spending my last years there. Ideally, if I could choose where I die based on geographical location, the following would suffice (no particular order)
The south and eastern shores of Lake Michigan (and areas nearby): this place just makes me feel calm and at ease. Yes winters are bad but snowmobiles are awesome as is the gorgeous scenery
Central Pennsylvania, Eastern Pennsylvania, and the Susquehanna Valley (basically the right half of the state): love mountains and also love the landscape.
The driftless area of Wisconsin: the rolling hills, beautiful summers, and amazing cliffs give this area a beautiful look.
Savannah/Charleston: gorgeous cities with nice climates and history
