I grew up in Florida and had outdoor cats in the 2000s. They did fine but they were used to it. I don't know how cats from drier cooler climates, which are also older, will adjust to a much hotter and more humid environment. Also, there's more things to consider aside from the weather. The South has way more fleas and other parasites than the North.

Hey now, tigers also live in Siberia Cats live in all climates. Steamy jungles, hot savannahs, bone dry deserts and freezing taigas.
