In addition to the cities already mentioned I would include Niagara Falls, especially the Canadian side.
I was really blown away by Niagara Falls (admittedly the Canada side). I didn't know a lot about it when I first visited, I guess I assumed the focus would be on nature. I was shocked to find it was like Pigeon Forge on steroids with an ultra density of fudge shops, haunted houses, laser tag, wax museums etc.
Orlando, Miami, and the Manhattan portion of New York City.
Lol. Times Square is actually the perfect place to get your caricature drawn by a street artist and your picture made with one of the many naked cowboys while you wait two and a half hours to eat at Olive Garden.

Haha! I felt the same way the first time I went there. At one point I felt like a was walking through a fun house but the whole street was the fun house! Especially now that they have the huge Mario Cart style go-cart track next to the farris wheel.
See to me, any place where tourists are interested on a large scale, especially on the beach, that stuff is to be expected.
It's the places like Branson, Pigeon Forge, etc...that are smaller places, but the kitsch factor is suuuuuper over bearing.
OMG, Pigeon Forge - AUGH.
One of the very few times my husband and I actually forfeited our reservation (and money) at a hotel after we arrived. Life's too short to spend even a day in Pigeon Forge, let alone a night.
I finally drove through there in the fall of 2017 and I will never get that hour of my life back!
It reminded me a lot of growing up in the 70's and 80's going to the Jersey Shore and Ocean City, MD, minus the ocean and 10,000 worse. With Pigeon Forge, you have 3 lanes of traffic in both directions, a light every 500 feet and at every light a go-kart track, mini golf and strip mall, those zoning/planning commission meetings must be a hoot!

That's how I felt when I visited the Alamo. It seemed disrespectful? Street preachers yelling at me while Ripley's Believe it or Not is next door.
Canada should be embarrassed by Niagra Falls.

Preach it! I don't understand why so many people flock there.
