I agree. There's no real harm if I was showing pride in my favorite cities, but if I recommended a place without any regards to criteria, and the person actually moved there and became miserable, I would feel sooooo bad. Horrible.

Everyone's tastes in life is different, and no one deserves to be miserable.

Exactly! I have a few favorite cities and I try to recommend them, but only if I really think it matches what the person wants. I could never live with myself if I tricked someone into living somewhere that they probably won't enjoy just so my hometown could grow a bit. That seems awfully inconsiderate and even selfish.

At any rate, I hope the OP will seriously consider Atlanta. Even though I don't really want to live in Atlanta again, it sounds like a place she should consider.

Well, to be fair, her criteria were kinda loose and all over the place in the first post. Cold is okay, but not too cold, the South wasn't an absolute then suddenly it was... Miami, D.C., the Carolinas... if she'd just asked for a walkable Southern city at first she would've gotten more suitable replies!
