I'm going to be doing an internship in a few months ,and am currently deciding between Chicago or San Fran.

I am from Syracuse, NY and have never been to either of these cities so I don't really know a lot about them.

As a 22 year old straight male I'm just curious as to what City people think, would give me the overall better experience? Important variables I would consider in making a decision are overal saftey of the city, friendliness of the people, cleanness of the city, and overall excitement and things to do.

All thoughts and opionions are very much appreciated

I love both cities, and whatever you decide you will be in a great city. That said, I would go with Chicago. Every cultural amenity available, it is cheaper, cleaner and much less of a culture shock. I'm a liberal, progressive guy, but San Francisco is crazy about it. I still have my Midwestern conservative streak, and San Francsico was a complete affront to it. It was fine for a week, and I don't have to adapt to have a good time, but it would be hard for me to live there. To be a little presumptious, someone from Syracuse probably has a little of the same.

I'm from Chicago and I love the city. But if there were one city I'd relocate to without hesitation, it'd be San Fran. Well, I take it back, I'd hesitate until I saw if I made enough to afford the high COL. But since you're only going for a few months, that's not really an issue.

What is this supposed to mean, and how dare you delete one of my impartial posts while you allow the invecto-fest that is every "vs" thread on this board to thrive?

I'm so glad you could pull your head out of your ass long enough to randomly delete something inoffensive. Here's for hoping you can please yourself by reinserting your face exactly where it was before this moment.
