They certainly don't stack up when compared to a real sub.
Try Franklin Ave. Giant Grinder in Hartford's Italian South End neighborhood. Or several other great places in many of Connecticut's cities. Nardelli's in Waterbury I understand is also excellent. And you can find great subs in the New York City area and most of the cities in New Jersey. Found a great place in Montclair, NJ a few years ago.

because we all live in Connecticut, New York City, and New Jersey
I was just talking about this with my best friend the other day. Quiznos as far as I am concerned owns Subway. Their sandwiches have more meat, they are tastier, more filling, and the bread is better. I really like their menu variety too...it just seems like their menus and Jimmy John's menus just offer sandwiches with a lot more variety of meats and vegetables in them. With Subway, I taste the bread more than the meat. Although with Subway you can essentially create your own sandwich. But that's an argument we'll never be able to settle I would say since everyone's taste buds were not biologically and genetically designed to agree with each other 100%.
