Would it be in the urban center? Which city?

Would it be in a highly insular rural area? What region?

Rural areas in the South. Especially if you aren't a White Baptist Republican.

I would think any city big enough that didn't feel like everybody knows everybody would be big enough that anybody could fit in.

bchris,

I'm interested in hearing more since you live in a rural Southern state. You feel your hometown is inhospitable?

Which can be translated to "I'm a liberal."

I am a native southern californian (Los Angeles) and would guess that the Rural south would be the most inhospitable and rude to outsiders. I think there are still quite a few backwoods bubba types who would NOT show that famous "southern hospitality" to someone who appeared to not be a White Baptist Republican.

Im pretty sure that if a liberal black man with his white Jewish wife and bi-racial children where to visit a rural southern town driving his Land Rover of Encino they would be treated a bit more rudely than a white family driving a Ford F-150 and dad was wearing a Cat Deisel power cap and jean jacket.

Boulder, CO. I went there over the summer and two people on Pearl Street Mall yelled at my family and I to go home. Granted this only reflects the kind of clientele you get on Pearl Street, and I doubt the rest of the town has quite that elitist attitude, but it was still alarming.

They have been known to throw cups of urine at the opposing teams fans during CU football games. Oh yeah, they also vandalize out of state cars there as well.

Lol. As much as I hate stereotypes I have to agree. You should have seen the cold stares directed at me and my wife when we were in Mississippi
