What are some interesting geographical facts/stats of states, regions or cities when compared or superimposed to/over other states, regions, and cities?

I will start. The DFW Metroplex is roughly the same size of New Hampshire in land area. But it has 7x the population of that state. The DFW Metroplex is in fact larger than the State of NJ, but has NJ has more people in it.

LA City is about the same size as Morris County NJ. So if you want to visually compare NYC size with LA City size, just find map of NYC metro that shows NNJ and has county border lines.

The one I found interesting is that the Adirondack Park in Upstate New York is about the same size as nearby Vermont or New Hampshire.

Imagine if 50% of Vermont or New Hampshire was public land (Forest Preserve) and the other half had strict zoning by the state.

Seattle is only about 20% larger than Spokane, on the other side of the state.

San Francisco is only about half the size of the East Bay suburb of Fremont.

San Bernardino County in California is the largest county by land area in the United States...

It is larger than nine US states.

And population wise it is larger than fifteen US states.

Boston at 48 square miles has more people living in it (680k) than the neighboring state of Vermont (625k) which is 9,616 square miles. This is despite no *major change in clinate* the biggest difference is Vermont is hillier but not exactly mountainous tot he point where it’s beyond settlement.

The Huntington, WV metro area is the most "balanced" Tri-State metro area in the entire country from a population standpoint.

WV population: 191k (53% - Cabell, Putnam, and Wayne Counties)

KY population: 111k (31% - Boyd, Greenup, and Carter Counties)

OH population: 58k (16% - Lawrence County)

Is Seattle larger in population or land area than Spokane?

Must be a major hub for several tenants. There can literally be housed enough planes to literally seat and fly away a large city's population.
