Hope not. As a corporation, GM has given much to Detroit over the years, and converesely, their downfall has taken much from the city. If they have any future at all, Detroit should share in it.
hehehe...they already have though...GM is declining, Detroit is declining
This would be bad for Michigan...maybe they're just trying to get the desperate state to help them out even more?
LOL. HELLO!
Has no one questioned that it's a big rumor only because the OP put the statement out there? The only reason Texas is in this post is because that's where the OP lives.
The issue here is if GM will leave downtown Detroit and move to a suburb of Detroit. There was never any talk of GM leaving the state. Read a news article.
GM has a facility in Arlington. That is my bet on a new HQ. Lower taxes, lower cost of living, it all adds up. Plus, with the new Cowboys stadium, this area is HOT!
GM doesn't have the capital to up and move. Period.
They have been spending huge money overseas on facilities while posting big gain loses here in the U.S. I think they have the capital by switching some money around.

Even though this would be great for Texas--and just maybe some of that would spill into my state--I can't possibly wish this final blow on the city of Detroit and the State of Michigan.
