I was wondering what your guys' PERSONAL favorite mid-sized city is (to me, mid-sized is something like Seattle). I'm from Portland (which I guess some people consider mid-sized), but I feel like this city has too little in the way of amenities (entertainment, shopping, dining, etc.).
On the flip side, I don't think living in a gigantic city like NYC would fit me either since I'm so used to the small town feel. So what are your favorite middle of the road major cities (as in "big cities" that aren't "gigantic" if that makes any sense?) based on public transportation (I love not having to drive to get downtown in OR), weather (I hate freezing cold like in Chicago. I can deal with snow and really hot summers, but excessively freezing weather that midwest cities have is a no go for me), job availability, and things to do?
Charleston, SC
Savannah, GA
Santa Barbara, CA
Portland, OR
Birmingham, AL
Austin, TX
San Diego, CA
Columbus, OH
Nashville, TN
Louisville, KY
Lexington, KY
Sarasota, FL
Raleigh, NC
Providence, RI
I would say that NYC, Chicago, LA, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, DC, Philly, SF, Seattle, Boston, Miami, Phoenix, San Antonio, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Detroit, Baltimore and San Diego are all large cities
My favorite mid sized cities would be Boise, Raleigh, Colorado Springs and Louisville
