Baltimore's inner city can be very socially conservative but very fiscally liberal. They are leading the way in trying to stop gay marriage in Maryland, along with some of the more African American suburbs of DC. The suburbs of Baltimore tend to be more moderate socially but more conservative fiscally, while the suburbs of DC overall are liberal in all ways. A lot of African Americans are conservative Democrats who are fiscally liberal but socially conservative.
Richmond, VA is pretty conservative and Republican.
Good grief - those list makers haven't figured out that AAs overwhelmingly vote democrat but can be culturally conservative.

Speaking of steryotypes - I am one of those Christian Knoxvillians and am neither conservative or evangelical. You haven't met our Catholic mayor who is about as liberal as they come.
pch, parts of Nashville are quite liberal. Think of the money you'd save if you lived there. You could travel the world and broaden your horizons.

Indy right now is a battleground city for politics but compared to national standards Indy is moderate to conservative.
Unlike Houston and Dallas, Phoenix isn't in the bible belt. It may be conservative but it's definitely not full of bible thumpers.
