Where should I move--warm, public transit, jobs? (job market, living)

I'm looking to move out of the snowy/cold midwest and someplace relatively mild/temperate in climate (I'm ok with a little snow, but not bitter cold). I need a decent public transit system to get around without a car. Having an ok job market would be nice too. Oh, yeah, friendly folks too. Your initial thoughts? Many thanks!
San Francisco can be chilly at nights but you'll never see snow, nice in the summer and pretty much all year round, good public transit, a very walkable city with a good economy. I would maybe even throw in Los Angeles and Miami but Los Angeles you can't really get around without a car and Miami can be pretty humid at times. Both have public transit, LA's job market is better than Miami's right now. Friendly folks? You can find those in any city, but you will also get the a-holes too so it's basically the same thing everywhere. I hope I helped a little. Good Luck.
They have an extensive, reliable mass transit system with a light-rail train launching May of 2011 in Norfolk. Hampton Roads Transit
It rarely snows there and the weather is moderated by being on the coast. The unemployment rate is 7.8% which is well below most of the other major metro areas in the country. Unemployment Rates for Metropolitan Areas Lastly its pretty friendly as you have people living there from all over because of the large military presence. No cliquishness.

Good public transportation and warm don't go hand in hand. You have to make an exception with one of those, so which one is more important to you? It seems like you would prefer good public transportation since you said you don't mind a little bit of snow. Maybe try San Francisco, Philadelphia, Portland, NYC.

If cost isn't a big deal to you, I highly recommend San Jose and the Silicon Valley, my dad is there right now for a project in his IT company for the next 8 months, and all my cousins have moved there about 8 years ago. Job's are good there, and the natural scenery is awesome.
But if cost is a factor, consider Houston or Dallas. And if you want to be closer to the Northeast, then take Atlanta.

Dallas and Houston do not have the public transportation she's looking for. And she said she doesn't mind a little snow, and the cities on the east coast really don't get that much.
