Interesting, my state was frequently top three untilt fall last year, now were barely out of the bottom ten. I wonder if there are stats for largest falls, places like Michigan and Oregon have always had high unemployment. But here we dropped drastically.

You do realize that the 4 states with the lowest unemployment rates (ND, NE, SD, KS) are midwestern states - not interior west states?

Possibly "Interior West and Great Plains" seemed too wordy. In the article itself s/he does say "Interior West & Great Plains." Some do place "The Great Plains" as separate from "Midwest."

Although there are some exceptions. I think Virginia is traditionally part of the South and it's in the better list. Nevada is maybe Southwest, but as it has no border with Mexico maybe it could count as "Interior West." The census counts it as "Mountain West" anyway. Even if one doesn't count it Idaho is doing middling.

However "The Great Plains" seems to be doing well without exception, even if you include Texas at 20th, and the "Pacific Coast" seems to be doing poor with the possible exception of Hawaii. (Possible because some don't count it as Pacific Coast)
