If you need to be within 90 minutes of Thomaston, but don't want to live in such a small town <10k

And you want to live somewhere that is pretty and not crime ridden,

And you will need to rent an apartment,

Where should you look to live?

Can you give me some ideas of where I should begin investigating?

Peachtree City?

Ga Hwy 74 goes from PTC to Thomaston. It's about an hour drive (50 miles).

Thank you Newsboy.

90s minutes or less gives you countless options. Many areas in the southern suburbs of Atlanta, North Macon, North Columbus, Warner Robins, LaGrange, etc.

Thank you very much. Could you rank them as far as "pretty"?

I will look into N. Macon, N. Columbus, and Warner Robins, LaGrange.

But can you tell me what specific suburbs of Atlanta to look at that are pretty and not high cirme?

The neighborhoods in the immediate vicinity of Newnan are beautiful. The area around Pine Mountain is lovely as well.

"pretty" is 100% individual taste. I live just off the Pine Mtn Highway about 12 miles from Pine Mtn (the town) and it's nice, for GA standards... but not what I'd call "pretty". But my perceptions are shaped by the fact that I was born and raised in Wyoming ~ I find Big mountains and wild open spaces "pretty".

None of us know what You find "pretty", so you'll have to look yourself. That said, you won't like the Pine Mtn area if you want to live somewhere with more population than Thomaston. Macon and Columbus are about the same to me with PTC a Little nicer looking (IMHO), but I sure wouldn't want to live there... but, again, perceptions come into play as I vastly prefer living Away from people/towns/"stuff". You might look into the smaller towns just a couple minutes from each of the already mentioned locations, such as Senoia and Ft Valley (both are 5~10 miles from the larger cities and those few miles closer to Thomaston).

Do you have any Specific wants/needs? Might be able to quickly cross out or narrow in on a more ideal location.

Thanks Brian and LovinDecatur.

I've been internet searching these places. Peachtree is crazy expensive apartments and sorta Stepford ish. Although I'd really LOVE the golf carts.

LaGrange looks interesting because it has arts/culture for a smallish place.

But it is Newman that would be my number 1 pick of these places. In pictures it looks pretty (ha ha) and it has a good amount of culture and amenities.

I'm trying to figure if there could be somewhere I'd WANT to live that would still be easy enough to get to Thomaston. Because there is a church in Thomaston called Pleasant Valley Church run by Pastor Henry W. Wright who wrote the Christian bestseller A More Excellent Way: Be In Health. I have had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for over 25 years and been unable to work. There are many that are healed who use the Biblical principles taught. I will be there at least 3 months in Thomaston, maybe more.

And my plan when healed is to begin a career with Publix. And to work my way up to management. So as I begin to work and "walk out" CFS, I'd like to do it close enough to Thomaston to stay as a member and to go to church and whatnot.

But after some time I'd move through Publix's to coastal or mountainous stores!

That's my story. Be kind, I know it is unusual!

If that ministry is what you really feel called to be near for your recovery, I would just appreciate Thomaston for what it s and live there. Driving from the Atlanta suburbs (or Macon or Columbus or LaGrange) to Thomaston on a regular basis would give me CFS!

Sorry, not to make light of your situation, but if you are battling a chronic issue like this, why add to it with long, regular drives? It sounds like you are going there for more than Sunday services, probably small group ministry and counseling. Live there with the folks in the church in town! My opinion, I know of this church and its vision but I can't see that you will benefit fully from it several miles away. It takes me all the effort I can to get to my church on time on Sunday mornings and I only drive ten minutes.

LOL! Thank you for your response, I think what you say is true, and has settled me in the matter. I would benefit most by living there and using that hour or so drive to anything I really really miss that I could visit on occasion.
