At one time I lived in Baxley (Appling County). Plenty of land, near the Altamaha River, great hunting, town is small, but it has everything you probably need. Our son went thru the 8th grade there and we thought the schools were good, but there is an emphasis on agriculture. The schools are supported by the taxes paid by Georgia Power's nuclear power plant, Plant Hatch 12 miles north of Baxley. It has grown a lot since I left in 1982.

Statesboro would be a great choice! Great amenities, LOTS of land in the county. Bulloch County is one of the largest county in Georgia(land area wise). Hunting, Fishing, Great Schools!
