Mental health and financial help (health insurance, income, to live)

Hi, i lost my job over a year ago. With that went my health insurance and 4 powerful meds my doctor prescribed. Cobra insurance wouldve cost over $400 a month and the ACA wasn't an option because i don't have income. I've sought help at 4 different places....nobody will prescribe the meds my dr did the same meds that all warn about stopping cold turkey as idid on all. I've since experienced fatigue i wouldnt wish on nobody, irritable, confusion, cant get anything done in a timely way, just an extreme deep state of depression and paranoia...i can't imagine being happy or going to work. Add on the fact i now have medical conditions like urinating everywhere and so many new insecurities....

The free and scale based facilities have done therapy but the meds they prescribed have been awful. I feel like an experiment. In fact on 2 of the meds buspar and hydroxyzine i have had tantrums i never had all my life. I have broke things, etc...btw I HAVE NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT HURTING ANYONE, SUICIDE OR EVEN WISHED BAD. Over a year ago i forgave everyone i felt did me wrong at job, i even recognized my mistakes that led some to react the way they did.

Sorry for not staying on topic...its my ADD but anyways i go in these institutions and get denied medications my dr prescribed while taking the new meds that have me like a zombie then I get more worried looking at the people waiting....wondering will this off brand med make me sit around biting my arm or cussing out everyone in the lobby.

I've been denied medicaid twice, i dont have the energy to go through all that many say is required. I actually feel i can return to work, i was pretty successful and dont want to live off the government. I just need help at this point.

Ive never had a drug problem so i don't know why these places would keep denying the meds 2 different doctors prescribed. Any advice? Any options for some kind of financial assistance? I think that's playing a big role too. Thanks

One piece of advice I can think of is to go to the drug makers website (for the drugs you can't afford) and see if they have a discount drug program. You would still need a prescription, but its worth looking into.

As for medicaid I don't really have a clue, but you should try to talk to a social worker on the phone or in person to try to get some answers. I would also try to stick to the facts and leave all the extraneous information out of it when speaking to them.

In most states you can dial 211 for info on social programs such as medicaid.
