My husband will be retiring from the Army in a couple of years and we are contemplating moving to Warner Robins. We have never been to the area, but the from the information I can dig up about the area it seems to be growing, has good schools and we can get a lot of house for our money. The other retirement option is Fayetteville, NC. We lived in Fayetteville for 7 years and liked it, but we don't like the homes in the area.

Anyone lived in both Warner Robins and Fayetteville NC? How do the two cities compare.

I'm a nurse and expect job opportunities to be abundant in both areas. Any nurses working in Warner Robins, Macon, or the AFB?

I can tell you that Warner Robins is a great place, and is growing very rapidly, and retirement shouldnt be a problem, also both the hospitals in Warner Robins, and Macon, are expanding greatly, one to deal with the growth of its county, and the other to deal with growoth of its region. Warner Robins, is expanding in all areas of the economy, residential, industrial, and commercial. Crime is really low, and schools are great. Warner Robins is within 10 miles of the city of Macon, which has its shares of problems, but it primarily offers Middle Georgia entertainment, and attractions.

On the other hand Fayetteville, NC is much more developed, and has alot more history than Warner Robins, and is expected to have a lot more population, in the short run, with the annex of the Fort Bragg area, with the expanded population comes much more services, like better healthcare, entertainment, and possibly, crime services. Fayetteville is also higher in education especially in the field of higher education. Fayetteville is a very beutiful city, from what I experinced from my two week trip there. I really loved the Cape Fear River Trail. Fayetteville has alot more ativities, events, and things to do than here in Middle Georgia. The sixth-largest city in North Carolina also has numerous historic sites, seven museums, three colleges and universities, multiple entertainment venues, a historic downtown and award-winning golf courses. We're right next door to Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base, so we are very military oriented. Immaculate parks and lively recreation centers offer you the chance to experience the outdoors or work on a jump shot. Plus, if you're looking to travel, Fayetteville Regional Airport and Interstate 95 give you many destination options.

But with the huge growth Warner Robins is experiencing, and the overall youth of the city, it would be a great experience to grow with a great city, and to be here when the good things arrive. Warner Robins may seem unorganized a little, but that is do to all the growth, once growth slows down Warner Robins will turn into a very beautiful modern citym wiyth large attractions, and things to do. The two cities compare greatly alike with both experiencing huge growth, low crime, and alot of diversity, with both Fort Bragg, and Pope Air Force Base, being within proximity of Fayetteville, and Robins Air Force, being apart of Warner Robins.

This is only from my perspective, you may want to do more research than what im offering here. YOu should always visit the city, and spend a couple days, or even weeks, and do not believe everything you read on this site.
