The 185,000 square foot National Infantry Museum will be opening Thursday, March 19th, 2009 at Fort Benning, GA adjacent to Columbus, GA. The grand opening ceremony wil not be until June 19 with Colin Powell as keynote speaker. I would plan on attending the grand opening due to the fact that the entire facility will not be open to the public until that date. But for those who want to check out some of the museum still impressive aspects, head there on Thursday and watch a movie in one of the 300 seats on the regions first IMAX. Also a few of the many huge exhibits will be open. There will be a dedication ceremony at 10 am for soldiers families, donors, and the graduating soldiers themselves. Read up on just what the museum has to offer on their website. Also check out the newspaper ad below.

That's nice. Wish they had built it before I moved to VA but boy am I proud of my hometown. An IMAX? How about that?
