Yep, Cumming is a definite hot spot for the Floridians.

Other places, mainly for the much older, retired crowd would be Cleveland, Dawsonville, Helen, Dahlonega, etc. (White County, Lumpkin County)

JX, Wow! if you did not hit that nail on the head!
I would say 6 out of every 10 cars here have Florida tags.

Also, we have had many, not all, Florida transplants coming in having a lot of difficulty adjusting to HOA life. In my area alone we have had 2 Florida families move in, only to move out within 12 months. For some reason they don't wish to abide by the HOA agreements which they signed at closing.
You hear a lot of, well we did not have to do this in Florida!!!

Do you ever see the stickers that the native Georgian's have on their cars stating "We don't care how you did it up North!" pretty soon I think you will start seeing sticker stating "We don't care how you did it in Florida!"

With this said, this applies to some situations only. We do have many Florida folks who are just wonderful. It's like anything else you will get the good, bad, and ugly, no matter where from where. But just an FYI on HOA's for any new resident from anywhere. In this neck of the woods they are strict.

Here in So. Florida they ARE STRICT with HOA's Even taking a tree off your property requires written approval. You must stay with the paint colors in the community etc. You can get a lein put on your house if you do not comply!!
