Do online debates just raise blood pressure?

When reading debates I usually know what side I stand on, but I like to understand why others may be on the other one.

And then sometimes I like getting my jimmies rustled.

Looks like this election season shows considerable promise for rustling jimmies. A few lightning rods:
Bush
Clinton
Trump
Sanders
Paul

Never seen so much controversy this early on... (I'm planning to move if we elect Bush).

I wish Facebook was as heavily moderated as this board. CD does a good job removing personal attacks, but FB ? Let's just say I think they are quite biased about what they choose violates their TOS.

I was visciously attacked by three male bullies on FB on a thread about banning smoking in public parks. I posted my opinion, that I thought it was ridiculous...and these three were on me like white on rice. One said it was MY job to be a positive role model for his kids, when I responded that no, being a role model is nowhere in my job description, the war was on.

That one said that I must be a heroin user if I went to parks to be alone. Another one said he would take the cigarette out of my mouth and break it in half, and THEN he would curb stomp my dog.

Guess which posts were removed from FB ? The one where I told him I wasn't responsible for his brats.

Apparently labeling me a heroin user and threatening the life of my dog were perfectly ok.

I almost quit FB that day I was SO pissed.
