Depends on whether or not we colonize.

Life has about 500k years left.. At that time, believe it or not.. Levels of CO2 in the atmosphere will DECREASE below the ability for trees to photosynthesize. You lose the trees.. Life is in big trouble. A few million after that, plants will lose the ability.. Once plant life is gone.. Animal life is gone. Domino effect from there.

Humans, if we develop the ability for interstellar travel.. Will likely never go extinct. But we have to get off the planet, otherwise we're certain to go extinct.

I think the planet will continue to evolve and heal itself through natural adaptation. either with us or without us. The human race may become extinct, because of modern medicine and the failure of allowing natural selection to do its job. Maybe I'll be surprised, and medicine will adapt quickly enough to make a difference.
Man is trying very hard to ruin nature, but I think in the end Mother Nature will prevail.

We can't even take care of the planet that created us. The scientist in me is intrigued about our ability to visit and colonize other planets. But the cynic in me ponders if we deserve that chance. Just look at how destructive and barbaric we are to each other, animals, and the environment.

Theoretically we could destroy the planet through our own carelessness but we are also capable of fixing the problem.
Aliens from another galaxy could come and take our planet, but why would they want to live here?
Yellowstone's caldera could explode and put the planet into extreme chaos with mass extinctions but some would survive.
A giant asteroid could collide with the planet and create mass extinction but the planet survived that before as well.
My guess would be that the sun has to die first. There is no surviving that.
(Did anyone see Nova last week about repairing the Hubble space telescope? The pictures were amazing. Space is beautiful. It's a sad and strange concept imagining that other beings in a galaxy far far away may see the demise of our solar system billions of years from now.)

My bet is Yellowstone blows.
Who decides on too many humans? You?

No there are not too many humans, that's a myth.

That being said, if we do not protect our earth we could all (All Life) die in a cosmic flash and the Universe would go on, and maybe 400,000 years later another human like creature will ponder our species, antiquities, fossils and technology.

Depends what you mean by 'world's end.' Most people's idea of an apocalypse usually doesn't really go into detail about what happens to the Earth.

Either way, humanity will either: A) evolve to a species that is no longer recognizable as humans and the human race as we know it will cease to exist as their ancestors will roam the Earth B) go extinct with no evolution, either by mass disease or killing each other off in some senseless war or C) leave the Earth and die else where in a myriad of different dangers.

The Earth will expire in 5 billions years when the sun expands and incinerates the Earth. If we haven't mastered interstellar travel by then, that's how die. The Earth could also be hit by a massive asteroid, but of course, the Earth will still exist after that though if its a large enough impact, it could wipe our all life on Earth.

Ultimately, it doesn't seem to do much good to concern ourselves with it until we can do something to change it, which as of now, we unfortunately cannot.

Yep. We have a loooooooong way to go until this world meets its end. In other words, I don't see why anybody worries about it. We will die out as a species long before the world does. It'll do fine without us.

Giant asteroids we should be able to see coming and deal with. A gamma ray burst that happened 10,000 years ago in another part of the galaxy could kill us all tomorrow and we would never know what hit us.

Nuclear waste will cause a number of dung beetles to become genetically mutated to the point where they grow to billions of times their original size and devour every living in sight.
