In this day in age with cell phone texting, calling, and usage, why don't we reconsider using three to four feet concrete barriers to prevent head-on collisions. I can't believe the only thing stopping a car going in the opposite direction from hitting you is about four feet of space and plastic yellow bubbles on the ground. Thanks!

How about just getting the idiots to stop using their mobile phones while driving?
Do you realize how much it would cost to barrier every 2 lane road in the US. How do you deal with those who go the wrong way?
By the way, there is no picture present.
That would be money well spent, don't you think? And not necessary the whole road. There will be openings for people to turn around if need be. It angers me that usually the people who end up dying is everyone but the wrong way driver. Which leaves your life and my life cut short. Here are the pictures:
You realize that second picture is of a road which, if your suggestion would be adopted, would have to be widened to make adequate travel lane width?
I realize this ain't going to be an overnight drop-in, leave, and we're done kind of thing. People are dying every week where I live from head ons due to cell phones and other distractions. And most of it is happening in broad daylight not at night. But you are right it will take time and some roads may not be applicable. Thanks!

Americans should just stop driving period.
No one knows how to drive. And there are no traffic laws. And cars are a waste of money and resources.
