The Articles of Confederation were flawed in many ways, this is why they had a Constitutional Convention in 1787 to rectify these problems, as stated in the preamble: .....to form a more perfect Union........ The States when they ratified the Constitution agreed to cede to the Federal Government powers that were restricted under the Articles of Confederation.
So could we go back to the Articles of Confederation, only if we did away with the federal government, because the federal government was created with the current Constitution.
.
.and have every state be it's own government free from federal government meddling?
If we're to make a serious change it should be the exact opposite.
The circumstances behind and practicality of an 18th Century Colonial model have passed.
Having fifty completely different sets of laws and process, both criminal and civil, is absurd.

So says the guy from the crackpot red state of NC which has a population that hates the Fed Govt. Maybe you should move to our region where we believe in the idea of a central govt and rule of law. I loathe your state and every other bozo southern red state which have ruined this nation.
The important thing is that the republican form is guaranteed. . . you know . . . the one in which creator endowed rights are secured.
All state constitutions reiterate that promise.
Of course, those who consented to be governed, waived those endowed rights in exchange for government privileges (and mandatory civic duties that abrogate those rights if not waived). How else can you rectify "right to life and liberty" and "militia duty" (obligation to train, fight, and die, on command)?
Maybe you should move (back to) our region
where we believe in the idea of a central govt and rule of law.
But if I leave... the pool of common sense drops. How is that good?
