New York City has just unveiled the first of about 100 electric vehicle charging stations to be installed under a national program that aims to have nine metropolitan regions ready when automakers begin rolling out some electric vehicles later this year.
Richard Lowenthal, chief executive officer of Coulomb Technologies, the company installing the chargers, said the stations accept credit cards just as a gas pump does.
But it can take one to four hours to charge a car, he said.
“For every hour you get about 30 miles,” he said
If they were smart about it, they installed all the stations within walking distance of Starbucks.
The elites will love em!!!

1 to 4 hours. This crap will not go over well. It will end up a dead end plan. Who wants to sit and wait for 1 hour just to go 30 miles? I wouldn't even make it to work. This is absolutely stupid. Who has 4 hours to sit and let a battery charge?
