Promised myself one of these for dont know how long...hinted at birthdays, xmas and mothers day but no takers so went for it this week and bought one....a Vax. with tools to clean tiles , oven etc... Im on a roll now.. great for me and the environment..
You'll have to let us know how that works out for you.
I had a "steam" mop several years ago that was more hot water than steam and it didn't do that great a job despite making my power meter spin.
Hopefully, newer models will work better and be more efficient. While I greatly appreciate not using harsh chemicals to clean, 1600-2000 watts is a huge power load (especially if you're off-grid). It would only be worth it if the appliance really did an awesome job.
Have only used it so far on the laminate and tiled floors.. does a good job without streaks or chemicals.. but the water tank to me seems small and has to be filled a couple of times for my small flat.. also great for freshening rugs... will report back on wall tiles and oven later..
I love my Secura steam mop(cheap Amazon product). I use to clean the tile in the kitchen, bathrooms, the hardwood in the dining room, living room, hallway, and I use the included plastic glider to steam the carpets. I rinse and wring out the terry cloth bonnet after use and it's pretty amazing how much dirt the steam mop collects.
