Live in Raleigh but I'm looking to beat the rain...company flying in from out west and we want to play on Thursday...weather channel says west and south of Greensboro should be dry by Thursday.
Any courses come to mind that are very pretty, well taken care of and public? We've played Grandover several times before so I thought we'd branch out and find something new if we could.
Tanglewood Park Golf (2 18 hole courses w/ one being where the PGA was played in the 70s) in Clemmons outside of Winston-Salem.
Oak Valley Golf (Arnold Palmer design) in Advance outside of Winston-Salem.
Salem Glen Golf (Jack Nicklaus design) in Clemmons outside of Winston-Salem.
Reynolds Park Golf (muni) in Winston-Salem.
The first three (above) are the best in my opinion.
Tanglewood offers a shorter and tighter course if the Championship (Referred to by many as the PGA course) is too long and too many bunkers. Most always in good shape.
Oak Valley is most always in good shape and pretty.
Salem Glen is most always in good shape.
All the above courses have large trees and somewhat hilly terain and elevation changes.
If you want a course in Guilford County...Jamestown Park and Bryant Park are both public and "nice."
Pleasant Ridge is "shorter" from the T-box, and a lot of fun. But a near "cow pasture" in comparison to Grandover. IMHO..."cow pastures" are a heck of a lot more fun.
I understand that the Augusta National is a fairly good course.
