Mostly I eat extremely healthy, but once a week...omg I love dessert!

My favorite places for dessert in the Triad are where they're "home made."

i.e. Olympic Resturant in Colfax, a young lady makes her grandmother's cake recipes. They are absolutely to "die" for. Several layers of Southern traditional awesomeness.

Seafood Shack in Walkertown, NC. I do not have words to describe the seasonal Pumpkin Cheesecake. They also have excellent cakes.

I think the choc chess pie is my favorite at Ganache in Greensboro.

Grecian House in Clemmons, also has some very satisfying home made type desserts.

I can't believe how hard it is to find the "old school" "baked" banana pudding with meringue.

Posting and hoping others will point me to some good places to try.

I've always loved the cakes, 'nanner puddin', and cobblers at Carter Bros. BBQ (High Point).

Carter Bros. is awesome.

Little Richard's (Clemmons) Brownie Sundae
is also pretty ding dang good.

I'd need to go back to Carter Bros. to compare the BBQ.

So they closed back in July? Dang, that was a hella cool place.

Yep, they shut the restaurant down the previous year which made it difficult to pay the rent from baked goods alone.
I loved that place too.

Another great family run restaurant is Rosa Mae's in High Point.

Midtown Cafe & Dessertery has great cakes, pies, and other treats, but they're not cheap.

Baklava is one of my favorites, which you can get at Athena. Hero House's is good to if you get it fresh.

Default Banana Pudding

Hill's Barbecue on Patterson Avenue in Winston still makes a baked banana pudding that is out of this world!

Thanks to everyone for the pointers thus far; Rosa Mae's and Athena are places I hadn't heard of before. Nice to have new places to visit.

Hill's BBQ? Relatives used to take me there as a kid. Nice to know where it's at and what it's called. I'd periodically tried to remember.
