My friend rented a room in her apartment to a man who paid for one week. There is no rental agreement. Three days later she told him that he would need to move out as she's looking for a monthly renter. (she doesn't want him as a roommate. She can't prove that he took a bankcard and charged things.) He became belligerent and said that she had to let him stay for 30 days, blah, blah. If he's paying weekly, doesn't he get a week's notice to move? He paid for a week on Thursday and he was told on Sunday that he would need to move. So wouldn't Saturday be his last day? She will present a notice to him confirming the notice to vacate conversation on Sunday. Does he need to sign that and what if he refuses? If he doesn't pay rent on Thursday for Thursday to Saturday, can she evict him immediately?

Eviction is a process NOT a single event.Notice is the first step.

At the practical level... lining up a friend with a truck to promptly tote his stuff somewhere else
will go a long way toward solving her problem soonest. Even if it costs a couple bucks.
