I'm a long time Harley rider hopefully moving to Greenville in the near future. Can anyone comment on what the biker community is like and what riding in the area is like there?
There are a lot of riders in this area and people seem to watch out for us on the road. Prior to living here I was in Charleston and, let me tell you, the difference is night and day. In Charleston I was cut off, run off the road, and completely ignored. In Greenville, not only are there a lot of great places to go ride, but it seems to be a safe place as well.
My wife and I both ride. We moved to Greenville specifically for the riding! We were young and free with no kids, etc. We didn't plan on living here more than a year maybe two, but we fell in love.
I don't know anything about the Harley society here in Greenville, but I do know that the riding in this area is fantastic! Heck, you can do a day trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It doesn't get any better than that!
One thing I notice here, besides the scenery, is the shear number of road options. When we lived in Florida, we had about 6 loop options to take on a ride. Here, there are just hundreds of loop options! Never have to do the same loop twice.
That is so true, tony123. While I don't ride a motorcycle, I used to spend every minute of spare time driving my cars all over the foothills and nearby mountains. There are so many fantastic routes to take that you just never get tired of the scenery.
Need information on Ronald Jennings Richardson funeral
Ronald Jennings Richardson was killed Saturday on hwy 11 when a truck driver pulled out in front of his Goldwing. He is from Duncan - I am a fellow biker and want to attend his funeral. Does anyone have any information on it? Thanks. daparker@bju.edu
