Well NewYorkBorn, then where should I go given my criteria:

South, not too sprawly, good job opportunity, single scene, slow pace/quality of life, nature?

Or does this perfect place not exist, if it's not Greenville?

I have heard multiple times from people that Dallas, TX is doing well with it's job market....single scene is supposed to be good there as well. Also more big employers there with offices where a young MBA can put their business degree to use. You have your whole career ahead of you, why settle for less than your education is worth in a place with limited opportunities?

No place is perfect....there is either 1) good quality of life, small population and low paying jobs or 2) large population, less quality of life and good paying jobs. I believe Dallas, TX should be a good balance between quality of life & a pretty good job market with a nice mix of companies and singles.

Check out the Dallas forums....good luck.

It never hurts to look IMO. I'm from Boston area (suburbs) and love it here in Greenville although I'm more an ocean person than mountains. While salaries might not be equivalent to NYC and even Boston for some, they aren't as low as some claim. Eduational levels have a lot to do with salaries. Open up your options of where to live, your young and unencumbered, and don't focus on one place but rather several cities that might be of interest. As they say, no area is perfect. Greenville is a pretty place and seems to fit what you are looking for. I'd skip Dallas if you're not into sprawl and city. It's big. Austin might be nicer but I don't know the job situation.

As to singles, if your into church that's the place to go.
